BREAKING NEWS: OS 4.5.0.37 Officially Released by Rogers on Shipped BlackBerry 8120 Devices
June 5th, 2008 | by BlackBerry News |
It’s here everyone! In a quiet release that nobody saw coming, Rogers has released the BlackBerry Pearl 8120 this week and loaded it with OS 4.5.0.37! We all knew the BlackBerry Pearl 8120 was coming to Rogers this week but what we didn’t know was that the “next”-gen OS would be included. I had Horizon Wireless go to the Rogers store just to personally verify. The Rogers-released OS for the BlackBerry 8120 is currently not available for download from the Rogers support site yet. However, it will likely be available in the upcoming weeks.
This is the beginning of the official carrier releases of OS 4.5 and hopefully we will see other device updates released by other carriers soon. The new OS 4.5 includes support for HTML email, video recording, and an updated browser. It also includes a new look to the UI, which features new fonts and new looks to the core apps like Calendar, Email, Tasks, Memo Pad, etc.

“quiet release that nobody saw coming” we knew this for a week, but nobody believed us. Quite sad that forum nerds didn’t do their homework.
