Tip: Sending Your BlackBerry Maps Location

Here is a neat way to send your location to another BlackBerry or any internet enabled device for that matter that works on any BlackBerry with OS 4.3 and up.

After selecting a location in BlackBerry Maps, hit menu and then click on Send Location. After this you will have a choice to send the location as an email, PIN, MMS, or SMS. Then fill in who you want to send the location to and send it on it’s way.

What’s really neat about this is you can send the location to anything that has internet capabilities, be it another BlackBerry, a computer, another brand of phone, or even an iPod touch.

  • Looks too easy... and that's just great!

I dare you to that on a standard BB on AT&T!

Obviously I couldn't do this on a standard BlackBerry from AT&T because they currently ship with OS 4.2 and lack BlackBerry Maps. As stated above, this tip needs OS 4.3 and above plus BlackBerry Maps.

(See the" Optimize Your BB Memory" thread in the general forums at BlackBerryForums.com to see how to add BB Maps to an AT&T device.

If you want OS 4.5 for your device, a link is provided above to an article with download information for the official release from Vodafone.)
  • Nice guide for my BB..
