Indian Government Hoists White Flag

July 3rd, 2008 | by Jibi |

In the latest installment of that hit reality TV show, “India vs. The Terrorists”, the Telecom Secretary for India has said that there is “no threat from BlackBerry Services”. With that statement, the Indian government has all but surrendered prior security concerns surrounding the BlackBerry Solution.

In an about face from previous stances and strong-armed tactics, the government is showing a consumer-friendly face, stating that there is no permission to give for companies or individuals using BlackBerry services. This is in contrast to their threats of completely removing BlackBerry services from the entire country just weeks ago.

This win goes to Research In Motion, however stay tuned next week, when the Indian government announces they have hired hackers to take on the world’s terrorists. I have a feeling this is not the end of this recent saga.

    WOOHOOOO! Kneel before ZOD!

Finally this has been an annoying thorn in RIMs side; like a futile attempt to reduce RIM’s worth.
