Breaking News: Thunder Media Player Pictures

BlackBerrySYNC.com has released images this morning of the Thunder media player in action. While we already know that the 9500 will run 4.7 at launch, and NOT OS 5.0, these new shots do give a bit more appeal to a device already being positioned as RIM’s iPhone killer.

Also according to BlackBerrySync

The Thunder will run a carrier music store which similar to the iPhone’s iTunes store and will allow users to purchase songs from their device

    Verizon has more BlackBerry subscribers than any other carrier worldwide. Add in Vodafone and you have a HUGE selling resource. VZW will be, when the Alltel purchase is completed, the largest single carrier in the US. The CDMA portion also means that it cant just be unlocked and sold on other carriers (remember how many iPhones were on eBay after launch?) You get accurate numbers this way, 1 sale = 1 activation
