BREAKING NEWS: AT&T Starts BlackBerry Bold Employee Training

It is neither new nor breaking news that the BlackBerry Bold for AT&T will not launch before the Apple iPhone 3G, which launches this morning. Many so-called in-the-knows have stated an August launch for AT&T, which we still hold hope for follow-through. While those in Europe will be able to get the BlackBerry 9000 on July 21, those in the United States are left to suffer through the bitter cold waiting game. We have just been sent a tip today that AT&T Mobility is, however, gearing up for their launch of the Bold.

In the next several weeks multiple AT&T locations will receive their training on the new, highly anticipated BlackBerry. It has already started in some places and will continue to grow from there. Training before a product launch is generally commonplace, but these courses do not generally begin until a few weeks before launch.

RIM has been notoriously tight-lipped in the past and not revealing too much about a product before its launch. With the WES announcement of the BlackBerry Bold, and the device being featured prominently on the BlackBerry.com website, this could potentially signal a change in the Canadian company’s stance on device launches. Will we continue to see more and more official information on new devices before they are released? Only time will tell, but the recent widespread “unofficial” knowledge of so many unreleased BlackBerry devices has to be coming from somewhere, right?

From what we’ve gathered from several AT&T Employees, New York City was the first to start the BlackBerry Bold training this week. Perhaps this videowas more than just a tease – a sign of things to come. Also, our sources close to AT&T and RIM have stated the launch for the BlackBerry Bold will be the last week of August or first week of September. Something tells me this will either be a short seven weeks, or the most frustrating of our lives!
