Update: Rogers Bold Pricing, Data Promotion, and more!
July 16th, 2008 | by mikeypants |

It looks like Canada’s Rogers Wireless is set to release the Bold within the next week or two, as a few great pieces of information seem to point to this.
The word is that the 3G device will cost $299 on a three-year contract term. Rumor has it that the price could drop significantly to $199 by Christmas due to 1) the overwhelmingly strong growth in smartphone sales in Canada, and 2) the pricing of the iPhone. We are also hearing that RIM has delivered the final launch build of OS 4.6 to Rogers. And for all of you naysayers out there, please remember that Rogers has been holding launch parties for the Bold the past two weeks and is due to have its final party tomorrow in Vancouver, BC.
And if this still doesn’t convince you, consider this: their BlackBerry pricing has improved dramatically over what we reported a few weeks ago. From now until August 31st, any BIS user can get a 6GB data plan for $30 a month, tethering included! And while this obviously is not unlimited data, its should be more than plenty for the average - and even fanatical - BlackBerry user. The only caveat is that you must sign a 3-year data contract.
To take advantage of this great deal, call the Rogers Data Department (1-866-931-DATA) and tell them you want the 6GB/$30 plan for BlackBerry.
