Yesterday we told you the latest news on the Bold in Australia and the UK, but now we have word on who will be carrying the Bold in Chile. Movistar and Claro both announced today that they would be carrying the latest device from RIM, with only Claro stating the Bold will be available for purchase in August. And while Claro’s announcement is sure to bring excitement to many, the announcement from Movistar has profound implications for 12 other countries.

Movistar, owned by Telefónica Móviles, tends to release a new phone in all of the markets they operate in on the same day. And to give you a mental picture of how large of an operation that is, Movistar currently operates in the following countries: Argentina, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador, El Salvador, Guatemala, Mexico, Nicaragua, Panama, Peru, Spain, Uruguay, and Venezuela.
