New Bold Release Dates—not July 25!

Rogers, T-Mobile Germany, AT&T, VodafoneUK, and O2 dates leaked

Everyone who’s been reporting July 25th as the release date for the Bold from Rogers are quickly waking up this morning to find out — no Bold(ness) in Canada today!

But BlackBerryNews.com has obtained information on the worldwide Bold launch which you can depend, from five major carriers. Read on.

July 29 – Rogers business customers

August 1 – Vodafone UK

August 4 – T-Mobile Germany

August 8 – Rogers for general availability

September 1 or later – AT&T

In September – O2 (UK)

Late September – Telstra (Australia)

The Rogers’ date is firm, as well as the TMo Germany release on August 4th.

The September 1 date for AT&T has been targeted, but could fall slightly later as AT&T gets their training act together. Either way, I would expect at least the middle of September as AT&T is currently running an August contest in which the winner gets a 9000.

Vodafone UK has been rumored in this August 1 timeframe, although execs with the carrier will only say officially before November 1.

And it appears the latest OS release now for the Bold is 4.6.0.97 (rel. 212).

Bring it on, RIM. With all this info, it appears that we’ll be seeing a staggered Bold launch across several weeks.

    RIM is making a huge mistake delaying the release date, they need to get their act together specially for people looking for a replacement and can't decide between those two phones they might end up buying the iphone instead
  • @Marco Their almost forcing my hand to it, i'd settle with an announcement....just gimme an announcement with a date so I at least know for SURE.

    What the hell is a "better" release date? I'd rather have one that isn't complete BS. No dealers have gotten any prerelease info on the Bold yet. If it was going to be released on Tuesday, they would certainly get sales information before the Bold was shipped, which they would be momentarily (or already) considering said apparent launch date.

    Who is your source? I have heard nothing from anyone I know at Rogers (and no, not lackey sales reps LOLOL) or friends who have passed through RIM on co-op and still keep in touch - though all of the other information I've heard from these sources hint at an AUGUST Rogers release.

    I find it funny that you reported that it wouldn't be released on the 25th ON the 25th - what breaking news! Looks like you guys have had your heads up your asses so far (like most sites), so I don't see why you should be believed now.

    If you're talking about the crackberry review, then you should realize that was a prerelease build - small batches of which are made to try to get the form right. Once they do, they start looking at build quality, better materials, etc. From what I've heard, the screen scratch problem is overblown. The battery/WIFI/etc issues were caused mainly by an early build of the OS - simply updating it solved a great number of issues. Am I stating this as fact? No. But most people are overblowing those issues without understanding the what and why. I would expect build quality at least as good as the Curve, and probably better, but every person I've talked to who has been able to handle a Bold has only used an early build - I don't know of anyone who has used a release build - and they were still impressed with it overall (once the OS was updated).

    I was in a Vodafone (UK) store in Cambridge yesterday and was quoted a Bold release date of August 3rd/4th (can't remember which!) Handset only price of @£400 and or free on £35 monthly contract (18 or 24 months I imagine).

    Exactly. I'm not due for an upgrade until January 2009, but I'm so OVER my HTC and want to get the Bold. I was at a Rogers store in Mississauga last week, and I was told I would have to pay atleast $600 if not more. =/

    I just got a new 8310 from Rogers on monday... I got it for 199.99 early upgrade. Should i return it? Will they let me get the Bold at a early upgrade rate too?

    Rogers Blackberry Bold launch date - according to Retail contacts there is a PO that they are to be receiving the Bold in Canada on August 8th with latest launch date August 12th! - Hope I'm right, ready to get my hands on one ; )

    Apparently the dates have been pushed back again. I checked the Vodafone UK site and it's still showing the Blackberry Bold 9000 under the "coming soon" category.

    This is getting ridiculous, I mean I wanted a Bold as bad as the next guy, but how many delays can we really put up with? Honestly.. I’m over it. Maybe I should jut buy a damn iPhone.

    We just received work from our supplier that Rogers is is testing the code this week. If everything goes OK, the Bold should be available on August 19th or 20th in Canada.

    I know we've all heard this before. You probably shouldn't hold your breath just yet.

    Talked to Vodafone UK today (07-08-08) as I am waiting to change my contract and want the bold. The release date on Voda is 01-09-08, they said it may be later but that's the earliest.
    Another month at least then :-(

    My uncle saw the bold yesterday when he went out for lunch with the CEO of RIM... he watched a movie and played with the BOLD and said it was amazing... I hope it does come out in the next few days i can't wait to get my hands on one.

    Sue, not anytime soon... there are no reports that TMo will be picking up the Bold. Their next big release will be BB Javelin.
