Hong Kong’s PCCW and 1010 CSL have the right to brag today as they became the first carriers in the world to sell the BlackBerry Bold. PCCW is the most ambitious of the two, offering the Bold for 60% off which means that the lucky residents of Hong Kong have the opportunity to purchase a Bold for a mere $250 USD.In case you aren’t enough to live in Hong Kong and get a Bold today, you can tide yourself over with the BlackBerryNews hands-on review of the Bold until the Bold arrives in your country.

EDIT: We now have some new information to share with you!

It appears that the link we posted from PCCW is not working for everyone. Please visit PCCWmobile.com for more information on their Bold. Click on either the splash banner on the homepage or go to Handsets & More > BlackBerry Smartphones.

As for 1010 CSL, here is a direct link to their Bold website where you can place your order! Current 1010 CSL customers can get 20% off their purchase.

@ james, that is absurd,ATT should be first because it has the most blackberry users in the world ( which is good for Canadians, ey) :-)
  • jared
its actually eh, not ey. show us canadians some respect!
  • Is this for real?
  • james
no one in canada says eh roberto. its just a dumb thing americans think we say..

just like im sure everyone in the states doesnt eat mcdonalds 5 times a day... like canadians we canadians think do

and i just think this is insane, because it was supposed to be released july 25th in canada and now its august 8th in vancouver as far as i know .....and china gets it today.. complete bs.

@ james, I spent many weekends having a good time in Windsor and everyone says eh. You just don't realize it, like people with accents.

Are you sure this is not manufactured in China..lol

It is really tough for some people to accept that they are not as valued as they thought.

Looks like they are technically not on sale yet. All these 2 sites offer is the ability to pre order them and someone will contact you when you can pick them up.
  • I checked the 1010csl website and the pictures are real, and there is also a very nice video presentation of the Bold. They indicate the price too!

Here is the site of PCCW which presents the Bold as "NEW" smartphone but does not indicate any pricing. The page indicates "inquiry" which could mean "pre-order" for us, but they push consumers to go to their stores, an indication they may effectively have it first to benefit from the Olympics starting this weekend. This might be a small market test for RIM before a general roll-out on the 12th. Who knows?
