EXCLUSIVE: BlackBerry 8220 - Pictures of Red Kickstart
August 5th, 2008 | by Jibi |

While these are images from the upcoming BlackBerry 8220 device simulator, these images show what the red-colored BlackBerry flip-phone will look like. This device is starting to look better and better since the first leaked pictures surfaced on Boy Genius Report in late April.
Designed as the first major change to the BlackBerry form factor, this device is set to make an entrance into the consumer market like no other BlackBerry device. It is slated to launch on T-Mobile US and the various T-Mobile Europe carriers.

Some new features that are available in the BlackBerry 8220 is CellData, Research In Motion’s answer to Google’s My Location. This was first reported by yours truly in late June on the pages of BlackBerryNews.com.

There are a few additional options in BlackBerry Messenger. And we’ll leave you with the highly anticipated ‘Clocks’ application found in OS 4.6.0.

You can click here for a very nice full-size image of the BlackBerry 8220.

It doesn’t look as bright red as the bb pearl or bb curve. It looks tacky. I just don’t get the flip phones.

I love the slick lines, but im not sure about the whole flip idea. Bold looks a bit big, thunder/storm without a physical keyboard isn’t my thing either… looks like im still waiting for the javaline.

from what i know about recent flip phones…they’re all giant. The days of a motoro;a v360 sized flips are gone. I personally think flip phones are coming back and this BB is probably just the beginning of the next flip revolution. (depending of course on its success. Or the lack of…) I do think it’s a strange design but the screen dictates how big a phone will be. Nothing else. I’m looking 4ward to it.
I was very much impressed with the Pearls design and the Bolds built quality. I’m curious to see and feel what this is all about.

the screen is the same size as if you turn the curve on its side. so i think its going to be a good size that won’t be too big or too small. i think that this will be a good transition for people who want a bb but who don’t want to loose the flip design.
