BlackBerry Kickstart Easter Egg: “This is sexy, isn’t it?”
August 6th, 2008 | by Jibi |
It takes a lot to come across these little easter eggs on a BlackBerry. I’ve never discovered one myself - on anything - but tonight I managed to do just that. It just so happens that the developers at Research In Motion decided to throw one in as part a bug check test that can be run from the device when you receive a JVM error.
When given a JVM error we all love to hate, scroll to the VM internal test option and click the trackball. It will now go through a series of screens. As to what these actually do, if anything, is unknown to me… however, I found myself quite puzzled when more than a few of the screens were displayed (see below).

I’m not sure if this is valid on any other simulators - or perhaps on a real BlackBerry handheld - although it is a relief to know that the guys who sit in ‘dark closets’ certainly continue to have a sense of humor.
Looking very closely at the last image in the sequence, there appears to be some sort of statement, although it is blocked by the title quote.

From what I can make out (yes, I actually attempted spent a good bit trying to transcribe the hidden message), it looks to be something along the lines of:
Oh no mr bill. something has
Oh nooo. Oh nooooooooo.
Perhaps a slight reference to Saturday Night Live’s Mr. Bill skit?
