Thanks to an anonymous tipster with inside information, BlackBerryNews now has the latest details on the current BlackBerry situation over at Rogers Wireless. We know you’re hungry for the details, so let’s just skip all of the formalities and get right into the new information, point-form style:

  • Some dealerships have ordered demo units of the Bold
  • Advertising material for the Bold is trickling in, but only says “Coming Soon”
  • Pre-order retail prices of the Bold and 8220 are showing up on sales systems at $899.99 and $599.99 respectively with confirmed prices expected to be known on Monday the 11th
  • 8220 Pearl is showing an expected delivery date of September 13th
  • The $30/mo 6GB BIS promo has been extended for all Q3 BlackBerry purchases on Rogers

As proof of the Bold demo units, our tipster sent in a photo taken from their order form for the  demo units of the Bold as they were placed on the Rogers system. The demo units are available as a form of in-house advertising to show customers the new device and its benefits. The units can only be activated on approved BES accounts to prevent mis-use or sale on the grey market.

Looking at the pricetag and the mark up, might as well get it from CTI and just keep the existing plan

Man. It cost them $275.00 and they retail it for almost 4 times as much!
Why is it extremely expensive? iPhone is cheaper then the bold =|

That's not quite what that means. I work at a "big name electronics store", and for "demo" models of what we get, we typically mark it a ridiculously high amount so a cashier doesn't accidently ring up that SKU/UPC. That number is usually $999 or $9999. Let's hope what we see in that image is for that same reason.

There CAD$ recommended retail price for the Bold is $649.99 I work at a large retail store in Canada and its been in our system for weeks.
The mark up on it is about $100 bucks.
