Boy Genius is reporting today that the BlackBerry Storm as been placed into TA (Technical Acceptance) at Verizon, with a three to four week delay.

Release data?

BGR is guessing mid-November, and it is stated the rumor was double-confirmed.

Oh boy, I guess that means two different leakers both stated the same info. Of course, probably all talking with each other.

Nevertheless, here’s what BGR had to say…

“Here’s our latest info on the BlackBerry Storm and the fate of the device on Verizon’s network: it just went into technical acceptance at Verizon which usually takes around 3-4 weeks, and the device has been delayed internally by around 3-4 weeks while they work out the kinks (read: buggy and unresponsive) and polish it up. That puts us around a mid-November launch on Verizon. We’ve double confirmed that information, so it should be pretty accurate. Additionally, we heard from someone else that they’ve increased the marketing budget for the BlackBerry Storm just to give AT&T a little kick in the nuts for delaying the Bold so much. That’s not confirmed, still probably a little true, plus we got a chuckle out of that anyway.”

we all have a pretty good idea as to what this phone will look like; as far as performance we are not quite sure. BB, from what we can see, is aiming at competing with the I Phone. The I Phone is okay but scary since it does not have a detachable battery; which is the main reason verizon decided not have it in its lineup - but who knows apple may decide to launch a third generation I Phone with a detachable battery. I have never been to fond of blackberries, especially with the 8830's keyboard, which is a nuissance and annoying to use - after all blackberry's strength is its e-mail functions, right!
  • Actually Verizon was never given an option to carry the iphone as the iphone is not built for that network. At the rate the iphone is selling on the gsm market, its not likely it will ever be built for the EVDO network.

The I Phone was offered on the Verizon network as prior stated. The detachable battery was part of the dispute, and the other was the fact that verizon wanted all rights of being able to replace this device in-store. Basiclly the two big wigs couldn't come to a mutal ground. As for the Storm I think the device will have it's fair share of bugs just as everything else does, but i don't think rim would spend millions of dollars on something they feel is going to "flop" .. AKA Give it a chance.........
