I happened across this Fox Business report about RIM and Microsoft collaborating on better integration of the Live Search application features in the BlackBerry.

And, there’s more…

“BlackBerry smartphone users will be able to use Microsoft Live Search as their search engine of choice within the BlackBerry Browser as well as access Live Search on Mobile.BlackBerry.com,” reports Fox Business.

Features?

The integrated Live Search in the BlackBerry will allow users to “be able to use Live Search to perform contextual, location-sensitive searches or look for nearby points of interest from inside BlackBerry Maps.”

Local businesses search

  • Find local businesses and restaurants, and click to call them
  • View business ratings and open hours of restaurants
  • See movie showtimes by theaters

Maps and navigation

  • Get turn by turn driving directions
  • Explore detailed interactive maps with satellite imagery
  • Map the location of businesses
  • View current traffic information
  • Get real time location if you have an accessible GPS
