AT&T Hates on the Storm, RIM Hates on Apple

sample1

Yesterday was a very hectic day in the BlackBerry world, so I’m sure a lot of you are hoping for a bit of a breather so you can absorb all of the new information of the past 24 hours. But before you go, we thought you’d appreciate a look at some documents that show the type of stuff that companies like RIM and AT&T say about the competition behind their back.

The first document is from RIM and reflects their views on the Apple iPhone 3G. It covers innovation, enterprise and enterprise applications, security, wireless email synchronization, web browsing, and more.

The second document is from AT&T and it comes from the Boy Genius. Obtained by his AT&T ninjas, the one page document outlines the “many advantages” the iPhone 3G has over the Storm.

by the way. has anyone dug up an official release date yet????

Me thinks RIM doth protest too much on too many pages to iPhone's one. As Mark Twain said: "When there is too much something is missing." What's missing is a reason to buy the Storm beyond, "Hey, we're the gold standard of email. We invented it!". Gee, then how come the Bold STILL can't render emails in rich HTML? And no WiFi or 3G on what is supposed to be BlackBerry's premiere media device for consumer's. Storm has lost this battle big time before it's even come out. It's a toy for BB fanboys--those who aren't aghast that RIM gave up it's physical keyboard advantage with the Storm. All the "talking points" in the world are going to save this sucker.

What does the Iphone offer? no cut and paste, anything you want to do you have to perform a workaround, i.e. email, download an app for mms, so they really dont offer that much and at&t network is lackluster at best, I have been with at&t for 15 years and have had an Iphone for over a year now and cannot wait till the storm comes out, cause in reality I should have never gotten rid of my old bb in the first place for this P.O.S.

yeah good one jackass, i bet you have an iFAG dont you David?!?!? first of all no one uses the stock browsers anyways, seriously i bet you have a PC dont you? do you us IE if you do your an idot, most people use FireFox or Opera. go figure they have full html Opera Mini and FireFox Mobile (tba soon). as for wifi, come on you use hotspots. that seems like a waist of your internet service through the phone company. considering 3g is comperable to wifi in every aspect. Verizon DOES have a 3g network which the Storm will be on. and its not farfeched for RIM to drop they're sig keyboard (which all makers have now tried in some way shape or form to copy) for a keyless haptic very intuitive touch pad.

AMEN to that, as an Iphone user and sorry to say owner, this is, was and will continue to be the biggest hyped phone on the planet that does absolutely nothing for the user, business or anyone else for that matter, an overpriced mp3 player that you can talk on.

The second gen runs on the same firmware as the first, only difference is the 3g, which if you do not live in one of the limited areas that AT&T offer 3g, then why the hell buy the phone? Same camera, same apps, same weak ass battery, same send it in to change weak ass battery, oh you have a problem send it in and u can rent another ICRAP til we fix your ICRAP. ICRAP blows, and apple sucks!!!!!

    Lol@thor. Bahhhaaaaaaa.....

Maybe David can snap a pic of his reaction to your post, and send you a MMS from his iTerd of it. Ohhhhh wait.... No mms? Uggggh....
  • thenamesThor
    hahahahah!!! seriously :)

do i even have to mention the fact that the iphone doesnt even give push email, you get wack pull email with MICROSOFTS HELP!!! WTF microsoft has to help apple do things right, you need an app to "COPY AND PASTE"!! come on really?!?!? RIM has led the way in phones and phone technology in the Business realm for years and in the last 2 has jumped in sales on the average consumer market more so than any other business phone provider.

How often can you up the memory of your iGAY? oh you can??? you mean you can drop a MicroSD card in anytime you want to store pictures, music, videos just toss it on your 2,4, or 8 gb SD card an go on your way. and you can swap cards as much as you want!!!!!!!!

BIS and BES which does the iSUCK have? neither? you mean you cant run private secured info over an Enterprise sever set up by your Business? does the GOV issue iBITCHES daily to there employees?? NO I DONT FCUKING THINK THEY DO!!! and there's a reason for that..

so my advice to you high school "I'M an ARTIST cause i like APPLE and they use pretty colors for things!!" who think you have the end all be all phone can learn what a true SMART device should be capable of BUY A BLACKBERRY!!

you iMAFAG douchebags! yeah i'm talking to you DAVID!!

Thanks for the love PB and NOTanAPPLEhonk :)

For the price, whilst it does have a very good touch interface, the iPhone is not worth it.

Why not buy an Apple iPOD Touch with 2.0 software and get -all- of the features apart from the GPS, calling and wtf camera.. I did.. it cost me about $1000 less.

Now, when it comes out I'll be getting one of those BlackBerry Storms, having currently owned a Nokia N96 (Yes, I have one, early, Nokia gave it to me), HTC TyTn II and the IPod Touch I can be pretty sure that the bold will be the best available out of the lot for speed, ease of use on E-Mail and browsing.
  • Matt
bah i meant the storm, not the bold.
  • David R.
Like I said, me thinks thou all protest too much. This avalanche of iPhone hatred proves my point. By the way, I have a Curve and can't wait for my Bold. Which, if anything, makes my honest critique of the Storm and RIM more valid than the hate-filled invectives some of you are hurling. It makes all of us who are BlackBerry fans--and want to stay that way--look bad. Let's face reality: were it not for the iPhone, the boys at RIM would have sat on their asses and we wouldn't be seeing any of these new BlackBerries this fall. Competition is good. It makes some of us stronger and others, based on the comments above, weak at the knees.

    why is thenamesThor so angry......?
  • Jim
    @thenamesDickhead

I wish you had to pass an IQ test in order to blog.

    Thor? Really?? Thor?? Blow me.
  • Kaede
Well.. not too lighten the mood up, but i have seen both phones, owned both phones, and decided...
there is a reason they have Ipods,
and there is a reason there are Blackberrys..

    Yes I did say IPOD...
My Iphone gave me so many problems, that i sent it in 4 times, finally on the 5th time i counted my losses threw it at a wall and bought a Curve....

    My real question is...
WHEN WILL THE STORM COME OUT FOR ATT!!!!!
  • Ron
YES! That is my question too. Does anybody know. Aside, from breaking into and unlocking the phone.
