T-Mobile USA Will NOT Carry the 9000 Bold… Ever.

According to a high-level insider, T-Mobile USA has confirmed to select employees that they will not be carrying the 9000 Bold in the near future or any time thereafter. (There is still a possibility that they will carry a customized 90XX Bold, much like the 8310 vs 8320 Curves, but I wouldn’t count on it.) Instead, T-Mobile will focus most of their efforts on pushing the consumer-friendly 8220 Pearl.

Our T-Mobile insider also told us that the 8220 will be capable of 6-way calling, meaning that all of the 13-year old girls out there who pick up the new Pearl can talk to their all of their BFFs about what a hottie Zac Efron is.

For those who need a full-QWERTY keypad, fret not because T-Mobile will also be pushing the 8900 Curve sometime in the near future, most likely in November.

But back to the 9000. It’s such a shame that T-Mobile won’t be offering it because there have been so many people on T-Mobile clamoring for it, even if it were EDGE only, because it has such sophisticated looks, an amazing keypad, a fast processor, and pleasing ergonomics.

    I could have assumed this. With T Mobile's focus on 15-30 y/o market and cheap plans, there's no reason for them to pick up the bold. Also since their 3G market is just not getting rolled out to the point where everyone else was 6 months to a year ago, it would be like doing exactly what AT&T is doing now. "We have the 3G bold coming but our 3G network is so jacked up it we'll push it back for months on end.

    Just release the Javelin/Curve and you'll keep every current TMO BB user happy and gain a few who are pissed at AT&T for dragging their feet with the bold. Then down the road release a 90xx with UMA and your 3G radios to satisfy everyone whether in 3G markets or not.

    Hey tato, you have your head in the sand? The Javelin has a higher res screen, better camera, double the RAM of the Bold....and it's not HUGE. Okay, no 3G and a slightly slower processor, big deal! Most people who have messed with both prefer the Javelin.....

    Looks like the time has come to switch to ATT. In great anticipation, I bought the bold and my browser does not work. Bye bye to T-Mobile after 5 years.

    AT&T has a 90 day exclusivity period for the BOLD after that T-Mobile will have it. I don't know where you guys got that T-mobile won't have a BOLD in their line up.
    Now all RIM has to do is fix all the bugs in the phone. I bought one and sold it. I'll wait for the US release of the bold.

    After 10 years with the T-Mobile family (Powertel to Voicestream to T-Mobile), I believe it is time to say good-bye. I have held on longer than some folks job tenure and this is the type of results I get. And, T-Mobile cusotmer service refuses to commnent on upcoming phone releases. T-Mobile, I stuck with you because you were the best of all the evils (ATT, Cingular, Alltel, Sprint, Verizon, Nextel, Cellular One, etc.). I too am leaving and taking my business to another carrier who offersthe variety of new Blackberry smartphone technology (Bold, Thunder). BYE_BYE.

    I called T-Mobile 2 days ago and was told that AT&T loses their exclusive contract for the Bold in January and that T-Mobile might be getting it either Jan or Feb. Hold tight people...just wait til a few months into the new year.

  • Check this website out... it originally said that the bold would be released with Tmobile in September 2008. Now it says May 2009.

    A T-Mobile service rep confirmed with me Friday, Jan 2, that the Bold WILL be coming most likely in Q1 2009. It's a good thing because they almost lost me.

    I don't know what T-Mobile is doing.They are losing a lot of customers due to their very limited phone options. The G1 hardware is very 90's and every other phone is behind in tech. All they need is a better variety, why not pick up the bold ? My friend has it with At&t and it's a beautiful device. Consumers want choice, and T-Mobile fails to realize that. They really need to step it up and get with the times.

    everyone who says they are leaving and going to at&t are idiots. t-mobile not having the bold is THE DUMBEST reason ive ever heard to switch companies. grow up. the 8900 is lacking 3G and it's slightly smaller, thats it. and ive heard that the bold might come out in may too. if you switch or have switched to at&t i say good luck to ya. they may have better phones but the service isnt as great as many people make it seem. and t-mobile is stepping up their game, so i think i'll stick with t-mobile.

    Oh my goodness! Why bother to go over to AT&T when their service is horrible, plus the prices are too high? You have to realize that they may have better phones, but do they have customer satisfactory service? T-Mobile has one of the best wireless carrier services and I am going to stay with T-Mobile. Eventually, T-Mobile will say they are going to come out with a Blackberry Bold and people will realize T-Mobile will make a run to get their sales back up. I know T-Mobile will come out with the Bold, just be patient!!

    T-Mobile Germany sells the Blackberry Bold with the T-Mobile logo on it -- just purchased mine on eBay. Thanks T-Mobile Grandma always said there was more than one way to filet a catfish.

    T-Mobile waited with the BOLD because the 3G Network was not ready. If Blackberry were to back-engineer the Bold for Edge it wouldn't be cost effective - basically a waste of time and money.

    When T-Mobile came to California it ran on AT&T Towers that it has licensed. The results were fantastic. Very few dropped calls, no static and crisp voice quality on true "world phones" with SIM cards. I enjoyed the ability to pick and choose Mobile devices that I could afford and use them with T-Mobile. I didn't have to alter my contract or go to T-Mobile to pick the phone I liked and the network rocked.

    AT&T was slow to adopt this process and it is still buried in their marketing. With all the hype of 3G3G3G!!! AT&T were scranbling to build out their network while already offering it to customers. They created the "NEED" of customers. As the saying goes - "cart before the horse".

    T-Mobile is steady and not as flashy. They will build out the network and then offer service! Seems simple doesn't it? When T-Moible is full 3G, AT&T and Verizon will be offering their next half-built and half baked network that will take years to build -while your calls continue to drop on their spiffy new network.

    It's now May 2009 and all TMobile has come out with is the flimsy Curve 8900! This still pales in comparison to the BOLD. I've been holding out since last June for a new phone contemplating a blackberry and when I see the one I want they don't friggin' carry it! I just sent back the Curve 8900 the keys were stiff and it felt fake. I'm about ready to jump ship myself. I've been w/ T-Mo for 6 years! The phone selection just isn't good enough! C'mon and get competative!
