AT&T Bold Training Starts Oct 16th / Launch On The 20th

Yesterday I wrote I would not speculate on a launch date for the AT&T Bold and today I am publishing one. I was just contacted about AT&T starting Bold training on October 16th with a planned launch on October 20th. This is inline with other information we have received throughout the day. The training delay was speculated to be a 3G or software issue appears to have been nothing more than a lack of signups by AT&T employees to attend training.

We also heard tonight there is a possibility that the BlackBerry Bold released by AT&T may have a white keyboard with black lettering.

At this point I am hoping these dates are accurate and we can move onto the next phase of launches. We have to start getting our launch dates together for the Javelin, Storm and …

  • That's dumb, I understand your only relaying info given to you but c'mon,that's the most cock and bull crap I've ever seen for an explanation on a delayed device..cause not all AT&T employees HAVE to sign up for training, the majority..ie the Call centers, just show up to work and have an email telling them they need to show up for training, plus store reps and managers for the most part get little to no training, they get the training docs and are told to have a "team huddle" on what was supposed to be relayed to them, which in most cases is handed to them by the store owner, who the employees probably only see once or twice a week

    atts not producing the phone so teh white keyboard would just be a ...uh sure we'll carry that... if RIM produces a crappy looking bold with a white keyboard its their own dumb fault.

    The training was cancelled/delayed/pushed back for lack of participation. Simple cost benefit analysis. Why fly someone to do a training for only a couple participants.

    Wow... I sure hope the white keyboard isn't a reality. That would certainly be a horrible look for an otherwise classy product. If it is true, I guess I'll be buying a black keyboard to replace the white one.

    What a mess this has all been. I know it's still rumor, but it's becoming harder and harder to remain positive about this device.

    why rush guys, wait them out till they drop the price like Rogers. besides, after all the crap they have put us through, i can wait a couple of months to see if the stupid thing even works.
