  • Options at the Blackberry site link for Rogers also include OS 4.5 for 8800 and 8820 (but not Pearl, yet).

Installed it last night on my AT&T 8310. Works great! Even somehow corrected the corrupted address book entries I had with the European (4.5.0.55) version. I thought the cause of that was Pocketmac, but maybe it was the OS. Needless to say, all my contacts are now editable and deletable again :D

Just so everyone knows - if you have a problem with the update from RIM's website and call Rogers for technical support - they will say that they do not support 4.5 as it is not yet posted on the Rogers official site.

When I updated mine, I had an App 523 error - happened when I switched to a theme (Surreal Theme) that I guess does not work with 4.5. Anyway, had to contact technical support and received an earful from the advisors that I had bricked my phone and as 4.5 wasnt supported - its entirely my fault and there is no warrantee, etc.

Fortunatley, after yelling at the individual and asking to speak to someone who was actually living in Canada and could speak English, :) I got my phone fixed by uninstalling 4.5 desktop manager and reinstalling the old OS.

    Good luck to everyone.

    I don't see a download of 4.5 for my 8800 -

When you select 8800 the only OS options you get are for 4.2.1 !!! burn. :-(
