Many of us have been sitting on this “rumor” for about a month now until we got some confirmation. After a quick conversation with Doug from BlackBerry Cool I am pleased to announce the BlackBerry Storm is coming to Rogers in time for Christmas. After he learned of a script the Rogers call center employees were given he made a call to verify the Storm.

We are still working on getting more information. Click this link to hear an audio conversation with Rogers placed by BlackBerry Cool. Head towards the bottom left of the page.

[Special Thanks to Doug and BlackBerry Cool]

Update: Doug at BlackBerry Cool received the following email from Rogers today 10/16/08.

Hi Douglas,

Regarding the ‘Storm’ posting…

Apologies for any confusion, our customer service representative made an error on our holiday device lineup. While we won’t divulge the holiday lineup in advance, I can confirm it will not include the BlackBerry Storm.

    Makes me want to switch from AT&T to Rogers, LOL. AT&T can't even get the Bold out the door, much less the Storm.

    can anyone get an approximate idea of the price of an unlocked 9500 on Vodafone or Rogers either ?
  • DaFD
    @BBThumbHealer.
    Like $600-700; Vodaphone will already carry it and Rogers, Let's just say that you CAN bring it to Rogers, but it will not work on their high-speed network, making it very painful.

    If you go to http://www.Blackberry.com/blackberrystorm/, On the toolbar it says "Blackberry Touch Screen - Blackberry 9530 - Blackberry 9500." Now nowhere else does it mention two different devices, so this is either an error that hasn't been fixed, or there is the 9530 which is on the spec sheet, and the 9500 which is pure GSM with triband HSPA

    The 9500 Storm has the 2100 MHz 3G with Quad band GSM
    The 9530 Storm is CDMA with Quad band GSM

    you can get them on ebay if you want it cheaper US$400-600.

    My guess the 9520 Storm has triband 3G with Quad band GSM?? Lets hope =)

    my two cents
