BlackBerry Media Sync updated for the Storm

BlackBerry Media Sync has been updated to version 1.0.1, to make way for the Storm. This is the sync tool that used for transferring media files from a BlackBerry smartphone user’s iTunes® music collection to the BlackBerry smartphone.

The sad part is Media Sync right now is still only available for PC environs, but you can sign up to be notified when the Mac version is released.

    I do not see/understand the value of this, since DRM tunes will not be copied. It's just copying MP3s, and it's just as easy to do this by hand, right?

  • I downloaded the new version but it's 1.0.0.18, not 1.0.1. Not sure what the story is with that. Did RIM pull it?

    Yea it does appear that RIM pulled the 1.0.1 download. I have asked what happened, awaiting a reply.

    I have downloaded the media sync, but it keeps crashing the desktop manager. Are there plans to rectify this?

    Blackberry dropped the ball- all us mac users will be returning the storm, and getting an iphone unless they fix the mac glitches promptly!

    When it came to choosing a multi tiered media phone, of course it was the iPhone and the upcoming BB Storm. I'm a Mac user and decided Verizon offered the best overall connectivity. Storm has a better camera, LED screen, VZ navigator, tether capability, speaker, and video camera. Really like the idea of the Storm. But syncing is horrendous with PocketMac and MissingSync. Deleted contacts twice on my CPU! Turns off randomly. Bluechip connects but audio is still thru the phone. Ringtone, Audio, and Video won't play, and it freezes randomly and shuts down.

    Please come out with Software Update to fix glitches and Sync software for MAC!!! I have 10 more days before I return it and get an iPhone.

    Just got the storm 3 days ago - verizon is great, blakcberry is great - BUT RIM/Blackberry you better get to work. The software for this storm is slow, ineffective and outdated. Using a brand new pc (1 month old) I cannot download media sync from disc or website. So that is the blackberry desktop software and the main music software application that don't work. In 2 weeks I will return this if this isn't fixed - can we get a response RIM?

    I have installed/unistalled the Media Sync four times and the program is still not working. Anyone have success with media sync on Windows Vista?
  • Not sure of the need for another util when pocketmac syncs contacts, iCal, media from iTunes, etc.
