Verizon Releases Storm OS Update

os75-1
os75-1

Ok Verizon BlackBerry Storm users, it looks like there is now a software update available for the 9530. OS 4.7.0.107 (Application Version .75) looks to be available through the Desktop Manager. After you upgrade, comment below and let us know how your Storm works after the firmware upgrade.

UPDATE: This is for BES users and must be pushed to your device from you Network Admin. I apologize for any confusion.

When will this update be avalible to the "mass" storm users?
  • Jason Mark
From everything I'm hearing it will be soon. I would say within 2 weeks at the most, I'm being cautious. I would say sooner rather than later.

    Jason,

How does Verizon notify the BES Admins that new software is available? Does a BES Admin need to register with Verizon so that they can be notified? I have looked through everything on the BES Server I administer and am coming to the conclusion that I need the software from Verizon in order to push it out to the Storm BB's.

please use the updated image as my PIN is on this image.

Don, How did Verizon get this update to you? I am guessing you are a BES Admin. Can you answer the questions I asked the author of this article?
  • Rob R

Another website has an even newer build , ( .76 ) not available for download of course . Good news is they are claiming the phone is even faster and better battery life. Good news to us early adopters that this phone is going to tap more of its potential. Hopefully verizon will release it soon.

By the way , running .75 on my verizon storm and it did speed up d accelerometer and overall function of my phone , still could be better but alot more manageable.

.75 is like ancient all about .76

the .75 update barelly helped it maybe made a very small difference.. still needs much more work to catch up to the iphone's simplicity
  • Don
Downloaded the update and it seems to speed things up some but Im looking forward to more updates to compare with the Iphone. Thanks Don!!!
  • Rob
.75 update helped a tad with speed. Still has all sorts of issues though. Hope they're quick to release the next update.
  • mark
crackberry has .83 links on website! HUGE HUGE improvement!!
  • Are you stupid? Before the .75 update the Storm would crash and fail at least 10 times a day requiring a battery pull. This was the demo phone at Verizon that caused a lot of people to write a ton of hate reviews on the storm. It was Rim and Verizon's problem they released a product with very buggy *ware... Now people are waiting b/c there are still bugs with the phone such as the video recorder failing...

I'm waiting for this god damn update, the official one...
