BlackBerry Storm falls from truck, loses screen and still works

Broken Storm
Broken Storm

Research in Motion is known for building some quality devices that can take a licking and keep on ticking, with the BlackBerry Storm being no exception. This guy dropped his Storm 9530 out of the driver’s side of a truck (what kind of truck we don’t know) onto the pavement and the Storm fared pretty well, except for the screen of course. More after the jump.

With the screen attached only at the very bottom, it still recognized touch input even while in a horizontal plane. Have a look at the video below as it explains very well.

The Black Berry Storm. Its claim to fame is the "First touch screen blackberry". I saw this phone and let me tell you, it is not touch screen like I-Phone is touch screen. Sure, you have to "touch the screen" to activate any of the app's, but its not the same as I-Phone. the storm screen is nothing more than a big "paddle" that you depress in the direction of the app you want to use. quite a let down if you ask me. But, since you didn't ask me, I'll tell you anyways. I was expecting more I-phone style touch screen, not fisher price paddle pressing. sheesh! oh well, I'm going with the Bold. I'm a Blackberry Addict. thats what i do.
