BlackBerry Admin, BlackBerry NewsApple iTunes goes DRM Free

Yesterday’s Macworld Expo keynote, contained some news that even the most devout BlackBerry users will enjoy.
Phil Schiller, Apple’s Senior Vice President of Marketing, announced that Apple has reached an agreement with major record labels to remove DRM (Digital Rights Management) protection from the songs that are available as part of the iTunes library.
Currently 8 million of the 10 million songs are available sans DRM, while the remaining 2 million will be DRM free by the end of March. For 30 cents per song, users can upgrade their entire DRM laden libraries to DRM freedom via iTunes Plus.
It is also worth noting that that the song pricing will change to a tiered model. Music labels will dictate the price tier for songs based on popularity and demand. Based on this criteria prices will be $0.69, $0.99, and $1.29.
Its okay, you can admit it, Apple made you smile.
