T-Mobile announced today expansions to their 3G footprint in the US.
According to PhoneScoop.com, Sacramento, Calif., brings the number of markets served with 3G to 92, and "next week, Memphis, Tenn., and Tampa, Fla., will also be added. T-Mobile announced that Washington, D.C. will be added in November"

Along with T-Mobiles announcement of the new G1 device comes news of bandwidth limiting on their newly launched 3G network. Almost all networks have instituted bandwidth limits but T-Mobile is placing the bar a little low. A 1GB cap! (I just about use that on EDGE.)

Many users in southern California have been complaining about only having GSM or no service since this weekend. I was able to contact a T-Mobile engineer who has been working closely with the 3G rollout and was told that T-Mobile attempted a soft launch of 3G this weekend that failed.
