India Claims To Have Cracked BlackBerry Encryption; Proudly Spying On Emails

Earlier this year, India demanded that RIM allow it to easily snoop on any email messages sent via BlackBerry devices. RIM explained that since the end user sets the encryption key, there’s no way to provide a back-door to snoop on the messages. However, now the government is proudly claiming that it’s cracked the code and can now monitor Blackberry messages on various mobile operator networks.

According to ComputerWorld, Gartner analyst, Ken Dulaney, mentioned in a nine-page report that the iPhone with device software 2.0 is suitable for the Enterprise, although caveats, largely surrounding security concerns, do apply. continue

Yet more threats are being tossed RIM's way by the Indian government in regard to the encryption of RIM data passing through India. The latest threat from the Indian government seems little more than a childish game of bluff. continue
