RIM Confirms Dash Navigation Acquisition
According to PhoneScoop and BoyGenius, RIM has acquired Dash Navigation for a undisclosed amount of money and/or stock.
According to BGR:
“Despite its lack of user adoption, Dash indeed built a solid platform that is literally world’s beyond RIM’s current mapping/LBS solutions on BlackBerry devices. If RIM is looking to improve its offerings, snatching up Dash would definitely be a very inexpensive way to go.”
An article was first published in GPS Business News, and now, a RIM spokesperson, Marisa Conway, is confirming that RIM has recently acquired Dash Navigation. In the past, Dash made a GPS-based navigation unit called the Dash Express. Financial details weren’t provided.
